Description

E 316L – 16 Electrode

AWS A5.4:92: E 316L – 16

MARUTHI E316L-16 is a low carbon rutile coated electrode. It gives a filler metal of the Cr-Ni-Mo type. Excellent quality smooth weld beads are highly resistant to acids & intergranular corrosion operating temps up to 350 ̊.It has easy slug removal & a stable arc.

Applications

An ELC-quality electrode with a titanium oxide coating, designed for welded joints and surfacing on corrosion-resistant austenitic 18 Cr / 8 Ni, 18 Cr / 8 Ni / Mo, and 18 Cr / 8 Ni / Mo + Nb steels, except where there is a risk of corrosion due to sulphur attack.

Characteristics

An austenitic stick electrode with good welding properties. It provides a soft and stable arc, produces little spatter, and allows very easy slag removal.

The E 1125 electrode deposits a weld bead with fine ripples and no undercutting. The weld metal has an austenitic structure with a ferrite content of 4–8%, making it suitable for welding parts subjected to operating temperatures of up to +350°C.

Current Mode: DCEP / AC
